Passés Cités

Exhibition
Vernissage at the Lligat Gallery at the beginning of September in Perpignan 2020. We will update the exact date of the vernissage according to the evolution of the consequences linked to Covid.

The group exhibition “Passés Cités”, organized by the Lligat gallery in September 2020, takes as its starting point the research of Édouard TRÉMEAU.
Close to “narrative figuration” in the 1970s, Édouard TRÉMEAU, haunted by the violence of history from which he does not detach history of art, paints in confrontation with “biopolitical” time. A painter of “naked life”, topographical, human and animal, he turns each painting into a block of time, a form of tense and restless life.
“Passed Cities” will attempt to grasp, within different practices, how the commitment of history and memory – of a place, a form, a gesture, a work, an event – provokes, beyond reflexivity, a regime of incorporation, of entanglement, of layering that allows us to think about the contemporary.
