LES ÉGARÉS, series
In the series Les égarés, I rediscover the impression of condensation by working my drawings through overlapping solidified layers and by integrating into my black Indian ink lavis the ochre dust of the Luberon, collected during a walk. The drawings are superimposed and crumpled, shifting from one format and one dimension to another. The fragile silk paper reveals mysterious reliefs, concretions with asperities of undetermined but dense origin.
TOUTES LES IMAGES DU MONDE, series
Working regularly with photographic images, Patricia Stheeman's "All the images in the world" series is based on images from the magazine Géo. By drawing on aestheticized "travel" images, the artist introduces "snags, gaps, torn shreds of reality", contradicting the glaze of the travel catalogue.
LES TRANSPORTÉS, series
The silk paper, an airy support and material, folds and unfolds with facility. It invites me to travel "light", to take with me in a hurry some drawn landscapes. The selected landscape appears, but can disappear, hidden in the ink traces. The folding draws new frames in the format, in which is captured all the density and fragility of its presence.
